  1. Go outside for some fresh air
    • Fresh air and sunshine can do wonders for your mood. Added bonus if you use this as an opportunity to go for a walk as well, get the body moving & your blood flowing.
  2. Write down a list of 3 things you are grateful for
    • A great way to give yourself a little boost when we need it, is to focus your thoughts on things that ARE going right. Writing down people, places, memories, or moments that we are grateful for to help bring a little positive perspective to your day! This could be anything from the food on your plate, to a smile from a stranger.
  3. Light your favourite candle
    • Doing this will change up the mood of the room, bringing a calming and uplifting mood. Smelling one of your favourite smells can instantly change how you are feeling.
  4. Tidy up (declutter)
    • Now, maybe you are not someone who enjoys the act of cleaning up, but we cannot deny that a clean space can totally set your mind at ease. Taking some time to organize a mess or put laundry away is a great way to make you feel productive, clear headed and reduce your stress levels.
  5. Drink a glass of water
    • HYDRATION is so essential, and often times we just need to take a little break, drink a big glass of water and get back to whatever we are doing feeling a little refreshed.
  6. Play your favourite playlist (maybe have a dance party)
    • Music is such a beautiful way to bring a little skip into our step! Pop on your favourite playlist, give yourself a little dance party and let your worries flow away!
  7. Call someone you love to say hello
    • Sometimes taking the time to chat with someone you love can make all the difference. Call that person you have been meaning to check in with, I am sure they will get a lot of benefit from hearing from you too.
  8. Give someone a hug (maybe just your dog!)
    • Take a moment to give someone a hug, preferably for at least 10 seconds. This could be a pet or a person! Hold on a little extra long for some added benefits, upwards of 20 seconds. This act will help release endorphins and bring instant feelings of being relaxed and full of joy.
  9. Smile (even if you have to force it)
    • There have been lots of studies done on this topic, even a fake smile can trick your brain into releasing those happy hormones and instantly bring your mood up! Fake it till you make it!
  10. Give yourself a massage
    • Self-massage is so underrated! Take a moment to breathe deeply, rubbing your hands into your neck, hands, feet or wherever it feel good and just release some of that physical tension you are holding onto. You will instantly feeling relieved!
